Description: Coffee production for domestic consumption began in Brazil way back in the early 1700’s. By the 19th century, exporting coffee rapidly increased as the demand for coffee grew in Europe and America. Now, Brazil provides about 60% of the world’s coffee, with most of it departing from the Port of Santos in Sâo Paulo. Unlike the high growing elevations of coffees in Central America, Colombia, and East Africa, Brazilian coffee grows at elevations of 2,000 to 4,000 feet, yielding coffee that is round, sweet, and well-nuanced.
