Guatemala Jandy Morales
Jandy Morales is a dedicated coffee farmer from Monteros, a remote village on the Guatemala–Honduras border. Born in Esquipulas and raised in Monteros, Jandy has worked tirelessly to build a sustainable farm and strengthen his community. He bought his first coffee plot at 18 years old and has since grown his production to over 21 hectares (47 acres), all at high elevations ideal for producing coffee with a classic Guatemalan profile - balanced, with a smooth mouthfeel and chocolatey notes. Jandy is not only a farmer but a community leader. Tired of selling to middlemen, he helped organize a local cooperative to gain better access to markets. After battling the devastating effects of coffee leaf rust, Jandy sought agronomic training and helped lead his village toward recovery. His commitment to regenerative practices, including composting, shade trees, and local labor, supports over 50 families during the harvest season. We’re proud to work with Jandy and Farm Direct Coffee to bring this beautiful coffee to the Great Lakes region. His passion for quality, sustainability, and his community shines through in every cup.
